Nancy Brandt is an author, director and film educator. Her repertoire ranges from long documentaries and short TV reports to creatively realised educational films for school lessons. In addition, she regularly gives film workshops and works as a lecturer for the Saxony School Cinema Weeks and the „play fair - films for democracy and tolerance“.
Born in Halle/Saale • Diploma in media technology at the Leipzig University of Applied Sciences (FH) • traineeship at the European cultural channel Arte G.E.I.E. in Strasbourg • film production ‘3 Kamele Film’ in Leipzig (2002 to 2011) • work as a freelance photographer • scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation • Diploma in directing documentary film and television journalism, HFF Munich •Winner of the Bavarian Culture Prize 2015 •Participation at the Berlinale Talents 2016
• ver.di-jury member at the International Documentary and Animation Film Festival Leipzig 2016 and 2020 • winner of the Wilhelm Freiherr von Pechmann-Award 2018.
